Where are the possible contest sites?
Laguna Creek is a beautiful and wild beach approximately 6 miles north of Santa Cruz. Take Highway 1 North. It's 6 Miles north of Western Drive. Look for the road sign that says "Laguna Road" The tricky part: there are two Laguna Roads. Park at the one with the parking lot. It's the second one. Go to the north side of the parking lot. Cross the highway. Look both ways!! Follow the trail straight to the beach for 1/4 mile. Go to Google maps to see a nice photo of the parking lot and directions. Use 6092 Laguna Road, Santa Cruz as a destination point. The waves are challenging with some refractive waves off the rocks making for some nice lefts. You will not be disappointed in the incredible beauty of this beach.
Sunny Cove at the end of 17th Avenue. There are usually smaller waves here and this is where we often host the laid back part of the competition: “The Pure” and “Tandem” and the BBQ. You can Google directions by using 305 Geoffroy, Santa Cruz as a destination point.
26th Avenue is just a bit south from Sunny Cove. It's a challenging beach break with rights and lefts. Park at the large public parking lot at Moran Lagoon a bit south from 26th Avenue with an outdoor shower and restrooms. You can Google 22790 East Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz as a destination point.
